Rahua Haircare

Rahua (pronounced Ra-wa) is an earth-friendly hair care collection from Amazon Beauty featuring natural ingredients found deep in the Amazon rainforest. The star ingredient? A highly potent, botanical oil the local tribeswomen call Rahua.

How is Rahua harvested and prepared?

Women from the Quechua-Shuar tribes collect oil-rich nuts from the forest, as they have for thousands of years. They then prepare the Rahua oil by hand – slowly, carefully, with the utmost respect for the environment. By sharing their ancient beauty secret – Rahua – with the world, these women have created a sustainable business, benefiting their community.
 
Fabian Lliguin, Amazon Beauty's founder and avid Ecoagent, had the privilege of meeting the indigenous peoples who best understand the rainforest. As a native Ecuadorian of Quechuan descent, Lliguin shared the tribes’ passion for nature, cultural tradition and justice. Together, they struck a deal to create a self-sustaining, locally controlled business that benefits the tribes while protecting the Amazon’s ecological bounty. 

What makes Rahua different from other botanical oils?
