Ila is the Sanskrit word for earth and the ancient earth is at the heart of ila.

Absolutely everything in ila products comes from a plant or mineral - and nothing else.

This stems from our faith in the power of nature as the course of real wellbeing.
We seek the highest levels of purity in our ingredients, which are mostly organic. Where they are not it is because we believe we have found an alternative of even greater purity.

Throughout her life, the founder and brand guardian, Denise Leicester, has always harboured a fascination with health, wellbeing and healing via natural remedies and products.

During her 30 years experience in the health care industry she found herself continually impressed by the benefits of natural ingredients in the healing process.

Sbout 10 years ago, Denise couldn't help noticing a gap in the market for 100% natural and organic beauty products made with nothing but pure ingredients. With product technology increasing, she saw that women were continually being sold products that were littered with chemical and nasties.

She became increasingly aware that even products that claimed to be natural and organic, still hosted an array of potentially dangerous and damaging chemicals. She soon became angered by the big beauty brands capitalising on womens naivety and set about to create a range that contained nothing but pure organic ingredients containing no chemicals and above all told women the truth.

On a visit to India Denise discovered Himalyan Salt Crystals and was amazed by their healing qualities. With ideas for a product range brewing, these crystals acted as her catalyst to combine these ancient healing ingredients with eastern philosophies and practises.
