Chrsitina Ricci, star of one of last years favourite TV shows, Pam Am (you have to love the era), turned heads on the red carpet at this year’s Berlinale, the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival.
Her stunning make up was created by makeup artist Stefanie Willman, who is a fan of the rms beauty line of organic make up.
The look was created using some of rms beauty‘s favorite products on the actress. First Willmann blended the “un” cover-up in 22 and 33 to achieve flawless skin. She then mixed and applied smile and modest Lip2cheek shades to give Ricci’s cheeks a perfect flush. Lastly, a dab of rapture Lip2cheek onto lips tied the whole look together.
The latest additions to the rms beauty line include the new Karma Cream Eyeshadow and a revised release of solar. The next launch is the rms beauty oil which will be coming soon - watch this space.

Zinc is one of the most utilised minerals in the human body. It is essential for 100’s of different enzyme systems, which control how our body functions, moves and adapts to life. All our rapidly growing cells require zinc in order to divide and reproduce correctly. This includes the cells lining your digestive tract, the cells that make up your skin, and all your reproductive and immune system cells.
Your digestive system relies heavily on zinc in order to keep everything from taste buds on the tongue, correct stomach acid production, digestive enzymes and the small intestinal lining functioning as optimally as possible. In fact a zinc deficiency is often noted by a lack of taste and smell sensation or problems with protein digestion. However, the role of zinc in optimal skin function is where you are most likely to first notice a change. » Read the rest of this entry «

New from REN Skincare, the Bio-Retinoid Anti-Ageing Concentrate has reignited our enthusiasm for facial oils and their many benefits. This plant based anti-ageing powerhouse works by activating retinoid receptor in the skin related to collagen production, which increases the creation of collagen Type 1. A blessing for those who’ve tried the synthetic vitamin A creams and found them too harsh, this natural skincare concentrate provides the anti-ageing benefits of its synthetic counterpart, but without the redness, irritation, or sensitivity.
What’s in it? - Unlike conventional synthetic retinol based products which can be irritating to the skin, the retinoid analogue in REN’s Bio Retinoid Anti-Ageing Concentrate is a new source for safe but powerful Vitamin A in natural skincare. In this concentrate it reduces the redness caused by inflammatory cytokines (which conventional retinol products often make worse!), and boosts the level of anti-inflammatory enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD) to calm the skin and defend against further oxidation and free radical damage. The concentrate also decreases melanin production response in the skin helping prevent spots from sun damage and other hyper pigmentation causing triggers, making this the perfect product to start using now in the lead up to summer.
Vitamin A from Andean Musk Rose Seed Oil and Pro-Vitamin A from Arctic Seabuckthorn Berry coupled with a new Retinoid Analogue from Brazilian White Beggar’s Stick Flower (Bidens pilosa) act on the skin in a gentle but extremely effective way to protect collagen and boost its production. Also in this new concentrate are nourishing oils from soy and cotton as well as reparative Vitamin E.
How to use it - When paired with REN’s Keep Young and Beautiful SH2C Serum, or any other night time serum, you can expect a whole host of benefits like firmer, plumper, more even toned skin with less visible wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots. Just a few drops in the palm of your hand, pressed gently into the skin before your night serum, and you will reap all the benefits of this luxury natural skincare product.
Right now, with every Bio Retinoid Anti-Ageing Concentrate purchase receive a complimentary REN travel kit while supplies last. If you’re look for a way to boost your skins reparative action at night and defend against future damaging, we highly recommend you give this a try!

For the average beauty lover, a super-intensive hour-long Facial is the ultimate treat. For the average sensitive skin sufferer however, it’s a whole different ball game, with over 91% reluctant to pay for a treatment they fear could irritate them.
Imelda Burke, owner of organic boutique CONTENT, explains why: A bad experience with products that are not suited to sensitive skin can put you off for life. But in reality, with the correct products, a monthly facial is ideal for calming sensitive skin. The massage combined with a holistic approach helps to soothe inflammation, reducing the redness often associated with sensitive skin.
As a sensitive skin sufferer myself I completely understand the Facial fear. When my urticaria first set in I was forever being told a Facial would help, only to come out of the spa 2 hours later itchy, sore and red in the face! That’s why I’ve spent the past two years developing Pai’s debut range of Facial treatments.

To help assist all the people who visit the CONTENT store with sensitive skin we have teamed up with Pai Skincare to offer their Skin Confidence Facials which have been specifically formulated for sensitive skin. We chatted to facial expert Laura Jones BSc MBAcC, about sensitive skin and why a calming facial may be just what sensitive souls need.
Having worked in skincare for over 10 years the majority of clients I see believe that they have sensitive skin. However many are actually suffering from sensitized skin. Simple changes to their skincare routine, lifestyle, and diet can bring significant improvements to the condition of both sensitive and sensitized skin.
How do you know if you have sensitive or sensitized skin?
Sensitive or sensitized skin is viewed as a condition of the skin rather than a skin type. Sensitive skin is generally inherited or genetic while sensitized skin is when skin reacts as a result of exposure to pollution or chemicals, such as ingredients in toiletries, cosmetics, and household products. Changes in climate, alcohol intake, over-exfoliation, and a diet high in inflammatory foods can also lead to sensitized skin.
Identifying Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin is often the result of a defect in the skin’s protective outer layer - known as the epidermal lipid barrier layer allowing irritants, microbes and allergens to penetrate the skin and cause adverse reactions. Signs and symptoms include
- skin is prone to blushing and considered more delicate
- likely to have other allergies
- skin is generally fair with a lower amount of pigment
- a thin epidermis, with blood vessels close to the skin surface, leading to the appearance of redness
- more likely to suffer from inflammatory conditions such as eczema, rosacea, or psoriasis. » Read the rest of this entry «
